Edison is a very small town off the beaten tracks in northwestern Washington. If you blink a couple of times you might miss it. It’s well worth stopping though for its bakery, gallery, small shops and restaurants. I tried to capture its charm in this 12x16" oil. I loved how the afternoon shadows fell across the road. “Downtown Edison” will be part of AIS’s inaugural show in Costa Mesa, California. March 11 – 26 at the Randy Higbee Gallery.
I’m honored to have my paining ”Family Farm” chosen to be included in the 2016 Oil Painters of America Western Regional exhibition. The show is to be held at the Marshall Gallery of Fine Art in Scottsdale, AZ from November 4 – 30. The opening reception is Friday, November 4 from 6 to 9pm. The paining depicts a rural farm scene from western Washington. I loved the contrast between the green fields and foliage with the warm red tones of the buildings.
I am honored to have Winter Color, a 30x40" oil accepted into this year's Russell Auction in Great Falls, Montana. It will be part of the main auction Saturday night, March 19. During the week I will once again be exhibiting paintings at the Out West Art Show, held at the Best Western Heritage Inn. This fun event kicks off with a reception and preview party Wednesday evening March 16 and continues through Saturday night March 19. Events are held all over town. It is the place to be to see some amazing art.
I was recently honored to receive the Best of Show Oil Painting at the National Fine Art Show & Auction in Ellensburg. My painting Peace in the Valley was voted first place by the other artists at the show.
